Why do I see the same currency having different values in different markets?

You might have noticed that the price of EUR as example displayed on your Shopify store can vary depending on the location of your customers.

For example, a customer in France might see EUR priced at 5,23 EUR, while a customer in the US might see EUR priced at 5,234 EUR. This difference in price is because your store uses both Shopify Markets and the Transcy app for currency conversions, and they work independently.

Here's how it works:

Shopify Markets: When a customer enters your store from France, Shopify Markets automatically displays prices in EUR based on France's market exchange rate and formatting (typically two decimal places, 5,23 EUR).

Transcy Currency Switcher: If a customer from the US uses the Transcy currency switcher to view prices in EUR, Transcy takes over the conversion process, applying its own exchange rates and formatting. This can lead to slightly different prices, such as 5,234 EUR (potentially three decimal places), compared to the initial Shopify Markets conversion.

Summary
- Initial Store Entry from a specific location: Prices are displayed based on Shopify Markets' conversion.
- Currency Switcher (Transcy): When a customer uses Transcy's switcher to switch to other currencies, prices are converted by Transcy using its own settings.
