What will happen when I upgrade/downgrade plan in app?
UPGRADE
Upgrading plan successfully will unblock many outstanding function.
To know more about what is the difference between plans, please kindly refer to this article.
DOWNGRADE
For Annual plan: After downgrading, the new plan will be activated after the current annual plan's subscription cycle is completed.
For monthly plan: The new plan will be activated right away after you downgrade.
All language translation including your translated words and/ or manual edited translation are still saved if you downgrade to a lower plan (from Enterprise/Premium --> Growth or Enterprise/Premium/Growth to Basic), except special case (!). However, you can only publish current languages translation on website according to the target language number limit of your downgraded plan and there occur some changes as the following:
Downgrade from Enterprise to Premium plan:
Only able to translate up 1000 products by app machine
Only able to add up 500 Glossary rule
Only able to set 100 Products, 100 Collections, 100 Other pages with Auto update translation function
Only able to set 100 Products, 100 Collections, 100 Other pages with Replace image function
Maximum create total 6 custom switcher templates
Downgrade from Premium to Growth plan:
Can only publish maximum 5 target languages for Editable language
Edit the translation for only 5 target languages (Editable language)
Only add up and use 100 Glossary rules
Unable to replace image for other pages (Homepage)
Can only replace image for 10 Products, 10 Collections.
In case you have added more than 10 pages (Product/Collection) in Premium plan then downgraded to Growth plan, we still save and keep all data as well as the replacement version for pages that you have replaced and set up previously, but you can't add more pages to replace if reach the limit, except you delete some pages to adapt to your current plan limit then add new pages or extend the limit by buying more resource quota. Also, all replaced image versions will back to Unpublish status when downgrading, you need to republish themselves according to the Page number limit of your new plan.
Unable to auto update translation for Other pages
Can only auto update translation for 10 Products, 10 Collections. The rule is same as Replace image above.
Example:
You're in Premium plan and you've added 60 Product pages to replace image and set up for Auto update translation, then you downgrade to Growth plan so now you still have those 60 Product pages in the list to replace image (Auto translate function), but you can't add more since you have reached the Growth plan limit. In case you have published all 60 product pages previously in Premium plan, after downgrading plan, all those pages will back to Unpublish status and you have to publish themselves according to the Page number limit of Growth plan.
So if you publish the 11th Product page, the app will pop a notification to alert you've reached the current limit.
(*) There are some popups might appear in case:
e.g. Reach the Replace image/Auto translate limit in Premium
e.g. Reach the Glossary rule limit in Premium
From the notification popups, you can choose to upgrade plan to higher or extend your limit by buying more resource quota.
Downgrade from Growth plan to Basic plan:
Can only add 1 Editable language
Can only add 1 Non-Editabke language
Unable to edit translation of Metafield, Notifications, Packing Slip template
Unable the function Auto switch Language
Unable the function Auto update translation
Inactive rules and unable Glossary function
Unable the function Replace image
Unable to turn on/off Daily sync button
Create maximum 3 custom switcher templates with Classic style
In case you have created some custom switcher templates including Classic and Modern style before, when you downgrade to Basic plan, the current active switcher template on the storefront is preserved even if it belongs to Modern style, and you can customize on it as long as you don't change/publish to another template then return to this template.
Previous customization templates including Classic and Modern styles are still saved in your Templates list, but only enable up to 3 custom templates with Classic styles for customization, and turn off (disable) custom templates with Modern styles for customization.
Downgrade from Basic plan to Free plan:
Unable all premium functions
Edited/manual translations (if any) are kept within 90 days. After 90 days from downgrading, manual translations will be deleted (!)
Unable turn on/off Third-party app function
Unable to configure Setting in Geolocation
Unable the function Auto switch Currency
Unable to choose and manage other available templates in Classic style (except default template and the customized one)
In case you have created some custom switcher templates including Classic and Modern style before in higher plans, when you downgrade to Free plan, the current active switcher template on the storefront is preserved even if it belongs to Modern style, and you can customize on it as long as you don't change/publish to another template then return to this template.
Previous customization templates including Classic and Modern styles are still saved in your Templates list, but only enable up to 3 custom templates which are duplicated from the Classic default template for customization, and turn off (disable) custom templates with Modern styles for customization.
Only add/publish 2 target languages (both 2 Non-editable languages OR only 1 Editable language and 1 Non-editable language)
(*) Editable languages added in the previous plan will be changed to Non-editable language type
Only add/publish 1 target currency
The maximum number of Languages that users can publish is equal to the language limit of their plan. So when users downgrade from a higher plan to a lower plan, all Editable and Non-editable languages will switch back to Unpublish status, users have to republish themselves according to the language limit of their new plan. The rule is same to Currency, Replace image, Auto Translate.
We have a good news that from now on, you can extend limit if you might reach by buying more resource quota for any function (Translate Product by machine, Auto update translation, Replace image, Glossary) to get a custom plan that fits you needs. For more details, please kindly check it out here. Please note that when you are in a custom plan (after purchase more quota), if you downgrade to a lower plan later, the app functions will be back to the limit of your new plan after downgrading as well as resource quota will be limited accordingly, details precised in note below.
NOTE:
Example:
You're in original Growth plan ($29.9/month) having 1000 products limit to translate by machine, but your store have 2000 products so you decided to buy more 1000 products, that means after purchasing more product resources, you're now in a new custom plan. Your new products limit is 2000 products. You still have not translated any products by machine yet.
One day after that, some reason, from Custom plan, you downgraded to original Growth plan again. So in this case, your products limit will be back to 1000 according to function limit of Growth plan. After downgrading/changing to Growth plan, you can only translate newest 1000 products according to the order in the list in-app by machine (that means from the 1001th product to the 2000th).
Similar rule to Auto update translation, Replace image, Glossary function, when downgrading from a custom plan to a lower plan (having less resource quota limit), your resource balance might exceed the resource limit of your current downgraded plan, so the app will auto unpublish those exceed ones based on time history (from oldest).
When you click "Extend your limit" on your current plan to buy more resource or change your plan, you'll be directed to Pricing page like this to confirm and approve charge.
That's all. Hope this helps you.
